About the role
We’re hiring a freelance SEO specialist to lead the SEO and discoverability strategy for our newly relaunched website. This is a fractional engagement — an initial audit phase, then several hours per month for ongoing work.
You will not be writing content. We have a separate writer for that. You will define what gets written, where it ranks, and how we measure it.
This role is right for you if you’ve worked in B2B SaaS SEO for at least three years, have shipped content-led organic growth for the US market clients before, and have an opinion about how SEO for B2B services is changing as LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini) take over the top of the research funnel.
What you’ll do:
- Conduct a technical SEO audit and identify growth opportunities
- Develop keyword and content strategies
- Analyze competitors and search trendsImprove visibility in both traditional search and AI-powered search platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini)
- Monitor rankings, traffic, and backlink profile
- Collaborate with our content writer by providing SEO direction and briefs
- Report insights and recommendations to company leadership
Requirements:
- 3+ years of B2B SaaS SEO experience, ideally including services or agency work for the US market
- Demonstrable case studies of organic traffic growth — not just keyword rankings, but actual qualified leads or pipeline attributed to organic
- Proficient with Semrush or Ahrefs
- Strong on technical SEO: Core Web Vitals, schema, indexability, site architecture, internal linking
- Working understanding of LLM / generative search optimization (GEO / AEO) — what works to get cited by ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini
- Comfortable communicating findings to non-SEO leadership
Nice to have
- Experience marketing to operations and finance buyers (COO, VP Ops, CFO) — not just engineering/CTO audiences
- Background working with services firms, agencies, or consultancies — not only product SaaS companies
- Experience with paid backlink placements and digital PR for B2B
Engagement model
- Status: Freelance / contract. Not an employment offer
- Phase 1: Fixed-fee for the initial audit. Propose your number based on scope
- Phase 2: Monthly retainer. Budget and scope agreed in advance
- Term: Open-ended. We review together at each quarter
- Billing: Monthly in USD
- Working hours: Your own. We don’t track hours; we measure deliverables
