Nebi was initially made as a passion project by a small team, who quickly discovered that their own love of classic photography styles was shared by many others, as their free app for iOS and Android quickly earned itself over a million downloads. They came to us for help monetising what they’d made and to optimise the apps performance and set up an iterative approach to improving it further.
Ekreative implemented a freemium model which provides new filter packs as in-app purchases, while continuing to deliver the app’s original filter selection for free. A dedicated development team ensures an element of continuity that makes it easy for Nebi’s core team to stay deeply involved in the process and maintain relationships with everyone working on their app.
The paid filter pack approach employed on Nebi has proven an effective monetisation strategy that doesn’t diminish the app’s wide appeal.
Seeing that Nebi enjoyed particular success in several national markets, we were quick to implement appropriate localisations to ride the wave.
Nebi is an ongoing partnership. With each iteration of the app, we ensure that the interface and toolset are tweaked to optimise the fast, intuitive, retro experience Nebi’s users are seeking.
